UK-Hafen Middlesbrough abgedeckt
Wikipedia claims that back in 1825 about 30 (thirty) people lived in the marshes of Middlesbrough. Today you can find almost as many vessels in the port of Middlesbrough, on the the river Tees and the nearby anchorage on vesseltracker.com. We now provide a significant coverage of the coast of North East England.
Wikipedia weiß zu berichten, dass im Marschland des heutigen Middlesbrough 1825 etwa 30 (in Worten: dreißig) Menschen lebten. Heute sehen wir im Hafen von Middlesbrough, auf dem Fluss Tees und auf der Ankerreede vor dessen Mündung fast ebensoviele Schiffe. vesseltracker.com bietet jetzt eine sehr gute Abdeckung der Küste des nordöstlichen Englands ab.

Wo ist “Mein Vesseltracker”?
The orange coloured main menu bar on our homepage contained an entry “My Vesseltracker”. My, my, it is gone! Not quite, though, the access to all you private settings has only been moved. It is now positioned under the login bar on the top right hand. Relieved?
“Mein Vesseltracker” war ein Eintrag im Hauptauswahlbalken unserer Homepage. Verschwunden?! Nein, nein, der Zugang zu Ihren Einstellungen ist nur unter den Login-Balken verschoben worden. Von dort an ist alles beim Alten.

Hafen von Lomé in Togo sendet
It is with great pleasure that we announce our antenna in Lomé, the capital of the West African State of Togo. The top photo shows our partner Patrick Dzah from Akwaba Shuttle Services together with colleagues mounting the vesseltracker.com antenna. Schiffe blitzschnell finden
Roooooooooaaaaarrrr – maximum speed to find a vessel. Just add vesseltracker.com to your search engine. It’s simple to go into top gear (see upper screenshot for Firefox, IE similar): > Go on vesseltracker.com > click on the down arrow to the left of your search field > click on “Add Vesseltracker” > rearrange the priority if you like > done. Next time you look for a ship enter its name, IMO or MMSI in the search field and select vesseltracker.com as search engine. See lower screen shot. Ah, don’t forget: Fasten Seatbelt!
Wuuuusssssssschhhhh – Überschall für die Schiffssuche. Fügen Sie einfach vessltracker.com zu Ihren Suchmaschinen hinzu. So einfach geht’s in Hyperdrive (siehe oberes Bild für Firefox, bei IE geht’s ähnlich): > vesseltracker.com aufrufen > auf den kleinen Pfeil links vom Suchfenster klicken > “Vesseltracker hinzufügen” wählen > ggf. die Suchmaschinenprioriät ändern > fertig. Wenn Sie nächstes Mal ein Schiff suchen, einfach den Namen, die IMO oder MMSI ins Suchfeld eingeben und Vesseltracker als Suchmaschine wählen. Fast zu schnell um wahr zu sein, aber es ist wahr.

Dünkirchen: eine erstklassige Perle in der Kette
Needless to say that the English Channel and in particular the Strait of Dover is very important for shipping in Europe. We are proud to have closed a missing link with the help of a very powerful antenna position in Dunkirk. The Strait of Dover is now completely covered.
Es bedarf keiner langen Erklärung, dass der englische Kanal und besonders die Straße von Dover von herausragender Bedeutung für die Schifffahrt in Europa sind. Wir sind sehr froh, durch unsere neue Antenne in Dünkirchen die Straße von Dover vollständig abzudecken.

Neuer Hafen: Newcastle
Okay, that is not precise enough. There are about 20 Newcastles in the world, presumably an obvious name for someone who had built a, well, a new castle. Anyway, Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom is the place were Stephenson built his first steam locomotives; it was an important industrial place and big export harbour. Over the years the port structure has changed and the import of cars is now one of the main business areas. Today the city is an industrious place and a logistics hub with many ferry calls, so welcome Newcastle! Oops, let us not forget Blyth to the north and Sunderland to the south of Newcastle, welcome all!
Da gibt es also mehr als 20 Necastles in der Welt. Es ist wohl der Einfallsarmut der Erbauer neuer Burgen – new castles – geschuldet, sie “New..castle” zu nenen. Wie auch immer, in Newcastle upon Tyne im Vereinten Königreich baute Stephenson seine ersten Dampflkokomotiven und die Region war ein mächtiges Industriegebiet mit einem wichtigen Exporthafen. Nun, die Richtung des Verkehrs hat sich eher umgekehrt und eine Hauptbeschäftigung des Hafens gilt importierten Fahrzeugen. Heute ist Newcastle eine sehr lebendige Stadt mit einer wichtigen Universität und noch immer ein logistischer Knotenpunkt, der nicht zuletzt von vielen Fähren bedient wird. Willkommen, Newcastle. Oops, da hätten wir doch fast Blyth nördlich und Sunderland südlich von Newcastle vergessen. Willkommen, alle zusammen!

Ein Stein aus DER Mauer in Hamburg?
Can you imagine how surprised we were when upon opening a box with supplies from China we found a number of packages labelled “For adding weight only”? When we opened them they contained bricks – brought to us by air mail and obviously only put in to adjust the weight of the shipment. Coming to think of it: Maybe they are not ordinary at all and we now have precious bricks from the Chinese Wall in our office?!
Können Sie sich unsere Überraschung vorstellen, als wir eine aus China kommende Lieferung öffneten und darin auch einige Packungen mit dem Etikett “For adding weight only” vorfanden? Als wir sie neugierig aufrissen kamen normale Ziegelsteine zutage. Aber vielleicht sind es gar keine gewöhnlichen Steine, die da per Luftfracht zu uns kamen, sondern solche aus der Chinesischen Mauer?
